"The Veneer Clause" is part one of a three part series. "The Veneer Clause" is about a 15 year old boy, Rex, who loves to invent things, or what he thinks he is inventing. He later finds out that the items he has "invented" has already been invented before. However, Todd, Rex's father, is very supportive of his inventive imagination. Rex "invents" a telescope, and while observing the moon through the telescope, he finds factories on the moon. Thousands of factories. When Rex's curiosity is aroused by these factories, Todd is forced to reveal a baffling truth. Todd and Anne, Rex's mother, are not really his parents but rather android replicas of his parents programmed to raise Rex. With this new found knowledge, Rex seeks out adventures and explores this new world that he had been deprived of his entire life.
